This summer GeoFest partners are running plenty of events to take your family along to. Many of these are crafts and geology based but others include things like theatre shows and garden parties! There is something from GeoFest for everyone and any age to help you make the most of the beautiful weather this summer.
Heritage Day at The Hive, Worcester
On Sat 16th July from 10am-4pm The Hive is running a day celebrating all forms of Worcester heritage.
Come along to meet various heritage organisations, museums and societies. There will also be talks, film screenings, demonstrations, and a sandpit excavation for children. Just drop in throughout the day. Includes geopark and geology displays.
Bewdley Museum Late Night Kitchen Garden
On 16 July and 28th August there will be a late night opening at the Bewdley Museum Garden Kitchen including live entertainment!
Antiques & Collectors Fair – Hartlebury Castle
On 17th July, 14th August and 11th September you can browse a wonderful variety of stalls offering quality, collectable and eclectic items in this wonderful Antiques and Collectors Fair!
Lapworth Museum of Geology – Megalodon Tooth Hunt
On Monday 18th July and Wednesday 30th August (10:00)
Can you find the 10 megalodon teeth hidden around the museum? Grab a trail sheet from the Reception desk and get hunting.
Bewdley Museum – Cherry Fair
On the 23rd and 24th of July there is a Cherry Fair and 1940s weekend featuring Kevin Mac, Wyre Forest Big Band and craft fair.
Come out and Play in Comer Woods – National Trust Dudmaston
Daily from 25th of July to the 4th of September, 11am-3pm you can come down and meet the team in Heath Meadow for afternoons filled with fun activities for the whole family.
Family Summer Fun at Worcester Cathedral
From Monday 25th of July through to 31st of August 2022 there’s a host of free family fun coming up at the Cathedral!
This includes fossils in the Geopark, 3 – 30 August 2022
Travel back millions of years with this exhibition, which includes a display of specimens from the Lapworth Museum.
Ancient Rocks and Relics, Tuesday 16 and Thursday 25 August 2022
Drop in family craft and activities, 10.30am – 3pm in the Undercroft Learning Centre.
Create your fossil and carve an ancient remain out of soap.
Get Arty Trail – National Trust Dudmaston
This event will run from Sunday, 24 July to Thursday, 28 July and will cost £2 per activity pack.
The Get Arty Trail is being run by Shropshire artist Sarah Evans, of Silk ‘n’ Stuff.
Participants will take a clipboard made from various materials and head out into the gardens of Dudmaston Hall, to see what they can sketch, be it a leaf, a tree, a bird or anything else that catches their eye!
Paper and a pencil will be provided, but feel free to bring your own drawing implements.
